favorite holiday recipes: snack mix

This next fave holiday recipe I'm sharing is a must have for your holiday parties or, to just have set out, kicking around the house for nibbles when needed! This snack mix (or "nuts and bolts" as my mama calls it) is delish and super easy to make!! It's awesome to try as outlined in the recipe but it's something you can really get creative with as well.

...this not only makes a tasty snack but will make your house smell scrumptious.

Snack Mix:

1 cup shredded wheat cereal

1 cup crispy rice cereal (crispex is my fave!)

1 cup pretzels / pretzel sticks

1 cup gold fish crackers/ cheezies/ cheese it's

1 cup almonds (or mixed nuts)

1 cup of melted butter

2 tbsp of Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp seasoning salt

1/2 tsp garlic powder

Mix dry ingredients in pre-heated crock pot (you can also do in a roasting pan in the oven). Add Worcestershire sauce, salt and garlic powder into melted butter and stir. Pour over mixture and mix thoroughly.

Let simmer in low in crock pot for 1-2 hrs, stirring regularily.

Let cool and then dig in!

Try subbing out the seasoning salt, garlic powder and Worcestershire for truffle salt or rosemary and Himalayan pink salt with chracked pepper for a gourmet alternative! And don't be afraid to get creative with the ingredients; plain popcorn or bugels make for a tasty spin on the original.

Happy snacking.
